The top of the wallet lineup. Six slots.
The Captain v5 is the largest wallet I make — a full bifold with six card slots and a full-length cash compartment. Built for the person who carries more and wants the best version of it.
The basics
- Size: 4.7″ × 3.5″ (12 × 9 cm) closed
- 4 quick-access card slots + 2 hidden slots = 6 total
- Full-length cash compartment — bills go in flat, full width
- Two stitching options: Machine-Stitched ($220) or Hand-Stitched ($250)
- Made by hand in my Kyiv workshop, one at a time
How much it actually carries
Four slots sit on the outer panels for your daily cards — ID, main card, transit, backup. Two more slots hide underneath for extras you don’t reach for every day. The full-length cash compartment runs the full width of the wallet, so bills go in flat without folding to fit.
Most storage of any wallet in the lineup, in a frame that still fits a front or back pocket without creating a bulge.
The leather
Tobacco & Olmo — Badalassi Carlo Wax Pull-Up (Tuscany, Italy). Two-tone combination: Tobacco on the main body, Olmo on the contrasting panels. The same leather combination available on the Venturer v2 and First Mate v4.
Wax Pull-Up means scratches rub out with your thumb and both tones deepen with carry. The two colors grow into each other over time — the longer you carry it, the better it looks. Full-grain throughout — the top layer of the hide, not corrected or bonded scraps.
More colors coming. This is the one available now.
Who it’s not for
If you carry fewer cards and want something simpler, the Buccaneer ($124) covers most people. If you only need cards and minimal cash, the Boatswain v3 or Venturer v2 will serve you better. The Captain is for the person who carries more and wants the best version of it.
FAQ
What’s the difference between Machine-Stitched and Hand-Stitched?
Same leather, same edges, same build quality — two different methods. Hand-Stitched is saddle-stitched one stitch at a time. If a thread ever breaks, the seam holds and doesn’t unravel. Takes longer to make, built to outlive you. Vitalii stitches every one personally. Machine-Stitched is tight, precise, and tough — stitched on an industrial machine in the same workshop to the same standards. The everyday choice for a wallet that gets used hard.
How many cards does the Captain v5 hold?
Six slots total — four quick-access on the outer panels and two hidden underneath. Comfortable carry is one to two cards per slot.
Will the leather change over time?
Yes — intentionally. Badalassi Carlo Wax Pull-Up deepens in both tones and the contrast between Tobacco and Olmo grows with carry. Scratches rub out with your thumb. The use is what makes it look good.
How do I care for it?
Keep it out of the wash. A small amount of leather conditioner once or twice a year if it looks dry. Beyond that, just carry it.
Who makes it and where?
I do, by hand, in my workshop in Kyiv, Ukraine. Every order ships with a handwritten note. We’ve shipped 7,000+ orders and earned 800+ five-star reviews.
