FAQ
What lead size does the MP1 use?
0.5mm. The Schmidt DSM 2007 mechanism is engineered for consistent, controlled lead advancement with 0.5mm leads. It is not adjustable to other sizes.
Does the lead break easily?
The Schmidt DSM 2007 is an industry-leading mechanism — significantly more precise than budget mechanical pencils. Lead breakage is minimal with normal use. Heavy-handed writing on rough surfaces can still snap 0.5mm lead regardless of mechanism.
Can the eraser be replaced?
Yes. The black low-smudge TPR eraser is a standard replaceable unit. Standard size mechanical pencil erasers fit.
What’s the difference between the MP1 and the EP1 pen?
The MP1 is a mechanical pencil using 0.5mm lead. The EP1 is a ballpoint/rollerball pen using ink refills. Same materials, same finish options, similar dimensions. The choice is pencil vs pen, not quality or size.
Is the MP1 backed by a warranty?
Yes. Refyne’s lifetime warranty covers the MP1 against craftsmanship and manufacturing defects.
