FAQ
Does the Allman lock?
Yes. The Allman uses a titanium frame lock — the back scale itself cams over and braces the blade open. It’s one of the strongest lock types in production folding knives. The Henry and Samla in the WESN lineup do not lock.
How does the flipper deployment work?
There’s a tab on the spine of the blade. Push it with your index finger and the blade swings open to lock — one-handed, smooth. No thumb stud, no assisted opening spring.
What is CPM S35VN steel?
A powder metallurgy stainless steel made by Crucible Industries in the US. Tougher and more corrosion-resistant than standard stainless, holds a great edge, and is easier to sharpen than many premium steels. A respected, widely-used choice in knives in the $100–$300 range.
What’s the difference between Titanium and G10 versions?
Same blade and frame lock on all versions. Titanium handles ($199) are Grade 5 titanium — lighter, develop a patina. G10 handles ($169) are textured fiberglass composite — slightly more grip, available in colors, $30 less. Neither is objectively better; it’s a preference.
Can I take the Allman on a plane?
No. TSA prohibits all knives in carry-on bags. Pack in checked luggage when traveling.
Pairs with the Sailor v3 leather sleeve for pocket carry.
- Tool-grade steel — S35VN, D2, or Swedish Sandvik. Holds an edge, resists rust, sharpens easily.
- Titanium & G10 handles — strong, light, weatherproof. Soft edges, clean lines, minimal logos.
- Backed by WESN’s lifetime warranty — any defect in materials or craftsmanship, they make it right.
