The Henry – Scandinavian Slip-Joint Pocket Knife | WESN
Pocket knives built to be carried, used, and passed down.
The WESN Henry is a traditional slip-joint pocket knife inspired by Scandinavian heritage. Named after the founder’s Swedish grandfather, it’s a modern take on a knife style central to Scandinavian tool culture for generations — compact, simple, and dependable.
At its core is a Swedish-made Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel blade — excellent corrosion resistance, edge stability, and long-term durability. Over 150 years of Swedish steelmaking behind it.
Handle options
- Titanium — clean, understated, lightweight
- Blacked Out Titanium — same as titanium, matte dark finish
- Cherry Wood — traditional Scandinavian material, warm and tactile
Important — no locking mechanism
The Henry is a slip-joint knife — the blade does not lock open. This is intentional and consistent with the traditional Scandinavian design it draws from. If you need a locking blade, the WESN Allman is the locking option in the lineup.
Blade steel: Sandvik 12C27
Swedish stainless steel by Sandvik — resists microchipping and edge folding, easy to maintain sharp, excellent for controlled cutting tasks. A workhorse steel, not a boutique choice.

FAQ
Why doesn’t the Henry lock?
It’s a slip-joint knife — designed without a lock deliberately. This is traditional to the Scandinavian knife style it draws from, and makes it legal in more jurisdictions than locking blades. A spring-back mechanism holds the blade open during normal use and returns it when you fold it intentionally.
Is a slip-joint knife safe to use?
Yes, when used correctly. The blade stays open under normal cutting pressure. It’s been the standard mechanism for traditional pocket knives for over a century. It requires deliberate folding to close — it won’t collapse during use.
What’s different about the Cherry Wood version?
Cherry Wood scales instead of titanium — warm, tactile, directly drawn from traditional Scandinavian material use. Same Sandvik 12C27 blade, same slip-joint mechanism. $20 less than the titanium. Different feel in hand.
Are WESN knives legal everywhere?
No. Knife laws vary significantly by country, state, and city. The Henry (non-locking slip-joint) is generally permitted in more places than locking knives, but always check your local regulations before carrying. WESN does not ship this item to the UK, Australia, or Japan.
What’s the warranty on the Henry?
Lifetime warranty on craftsmanship and manufacturing defects. Normal wear, accidental damage, and user modification are not covered. Avoid power grinding wheels — that will void it.
- Tool-grade steel — S35VN, D2, or Swedish Sandvik. Holds an edge, resists rust, sharpens easily.
- Titanium & G10 handles — strong, light, weatherproof. Soft edges, clean lines, minimal logos.
- Backed by WESN’s lifetime warranty — any defect in materials or craftsmanship, they make it right.
