The leather: Bisanzio by Conceria Puccini Attilio (Tuscany, Italy), color Zaffiro — a deep sapphire blue with a hand-applied metallic finish that shifts with the light. No two pieces look identical.
The name tells the story: Bisanzio draws from the art of ancient Byzantium, where gold and precious stones covered everything. Puccini named their colors after gemstones. Zaffiro is sapphire. It earns the name.
Bisanzio is vegetable-tanned French bovine, drum-dyed and finished with aniline — firm temper, iridescent surface that changes with the angle of light. This is the most theatrical leather in Puccini's lineup. Stitched with silver linen thread and finished with a silver-tone foil embossing pressed by hand.
