About the leather

Vegetable tanned leather

Koala by Conceria Puccini. Koala is one of the oldest articles of Puccini Tannery. It is made from cow shoulders of the highest quality of French origin and it is 100% vegetable tanned, firm tempered and with beautiful colours.

Koala is smooth, full grain, fattening is made with Sego, according to the old recipe of our Tannery, and other natural made oils in order to give elasticity and richness to the leather. The tanning method using natural tannin extracts from Quebracho and Chestnut trees give a good firm structure to the leather and good elasticity. Koala will develop a nice and rich patina over time and use, which is typical of a natural vegetable tanned leather.

Bisanzio by Conceria Puccini. As the Ancient Byzantine Art, the item BISANZIO has a bright and shiny look, the colours are unique and rich, and the appearance changes depending on lightning.

The surface has a very unique "cloudy" shine that reminds me of the Byzantine mosaic. BISANZIO is the perfect synergy of classic vegetable tanned leather and the artistic processing methods that Conceria Puccini created while looking at art for inspiration. BISANZIO leather is drum dyed, fattened with natural oils, and finished with aniline colours.

Ponte Wax by Conceria Il Ponte. This particular vacchetta type has a mix of animal grease and oils that creates a medium temper: not too soft and not too stiff.

Ponte Wax is vegetable tanned, dyed through, it has aniline finish and a very nice pull up effect without an annoying "lubricated feel". This leather is full grain which makes it different from similar ones. The grain is tight and very high quality with minimum imperfections.

MAREMMA by Conceria Puccini. MAREMMA is a 100% vegetable tanned leather made in Tuscany. This leather is made by using the best raw material cow hides of French origin.

The MAREMMA is tanned with Quebracho and Chestnut tannin vegetable extracts that give firmness and good consistency to the leather as well as making it flexible and easy to use. This leather is fattened with SEGO, a special mixture of oils and animal fats that we produce at our tannery according to our old recipe. The MAREMMA is treated with oils that give a nice soft and warm touch to the surface and a beautiful pull-up effect.

Crazy Horse

For a more vintage look you can choose Whiskey or Rusty Anchor colors which are Crazy Horse leathers. This leather is produced by applying a specific kind of wax to a full grain cowhide leather surface which has been buffed and smoothed out. This process results in the abrasion of the treated area changing its color. The transformation in its texture is not only an immediate one but allows it to change with time also, exhibiting an antique effect.

Be careful, Crazy Horse leather has a natural tint in 10%, so there is a high probability that you will not get the exact same product as in the photo, as it may be slightly lighter or darker. This can vary from hide to hide as there are no identical hides. The product may also differ slightly in thickness.
