Pirate Goods Drunken Boatswain v2 – Leather Card Holder
$74.00
Regular price $59.00Leather goods that age with you — not wear out.
Three slots. Curved edges. The smallest wallet we make.
The Drunken Boatswain v2 is the most minimal card holder in the lineup. Three slots, a wave-shaped body with curved edges that make it easier to pull cards without digging. At 4.13" × 2.76" it’s noticeably smaller than the Boatswain v3 — built for the person who carries three cards and nothing else.
The basics
- Size: 4.13" × 2.76" (10.5 × 7 cm)
- 3 card slots
- Wave-shaped body, curved edges
- Full-grain leather, hand-finished edges
- Made by hand in my Kyiv workshop, one at a time
How much it actually carries
Three slots, two to three cards each — six to nine if you push it. The wave shape means the edges curve slightly outward, making it easier to get your thumb under a card and pull it cleanly. If you regularly carry more than six cards, the Boatswain v3 gives you more room.
The leather (and why it’s named on the label)
Most card holders just say “genuine leather.” That tells you nothing. Here’s exactly what you’re getting:
- Badalassi Carlo (Olmo, Tabacco) — Italian vegetable-tanned full-grain. Firm, ages slow, builds a deep patina.
- Koala (Black) — smooth, even, minimal marking. The cleaner look.
All full-grain — the top layer of the hide, not corrected or bonded scraps.
Who it’s not for
If you carry cash or more than six cards, the Boatswain v3 is the better fit — it has more slots and a dedicated cash pocket. The Drunken Boatswain is for a genuinely minimal carry.
FAQ
How many cards does it hold?
Three slots, two to three cards each. Six is the max if you pack it — two per slot is the comfortable carry.
What makes the wave shape different?
The body curves slightly — the edges aren’t straight. This makes it easier to get your thumb under a card and pull it out cleanly compared to a straight-edged holder.
Does the leather scratch?
Koala (Black) is smooth and marks less. Badalassi Carlo (Olmo, Tabacco) is vegetable-tanned full-grain — develops a patina over time but doesn’t mark the way pull-up leather does.
How do I care for it?
Keep it out of the wash. A small amount of leather conditioner once or twice a year if it looks dry.
Who makes it and where?
I do, by hand, in my workshop in Kyiv, Ukraine. Every order ships with a handwritten note. We’ve shipped 7,000+ orders and earned 600+ five-star reviews.
Pick your leather and add to cart. Ships within a few days, handmade and ready to carry.
